More Than Just Swedish Fish

Sweden is located in Europe, above Poland and Germany, with Denmark, Norway, and Finland as its neighbors. I really don't know much about Sweden, except that it is beautiful, its capitol is Stockholm, and that their language, Swedish, is very similar to the languages spoken in its neighboring countries. I am mainly interested in this culture because of its incredible landscape, which I would love to see in person some day.

The average Swedish family eats around 1.2 kilos of sweets a week, and most of those sweets are eaten on Saturday, which is called sweets day. It is believed that this tradition helps prevent cavities and protect people's teeth, oddly enough. The Swedes are known for loving their desserts!

In August, the Swedish follow a very popular social norm: crayfish parties. Friends and family gather together on perfect summer nights and feast on what they call "Norway lobster". Crayfish have become a national delicacy over the centuries in Sweden. A lot of Swedish cuisine comes from traditions dating back as far as the 1400s. Gross and delicious, the Swedes like sticking to tradition.
