There are three main foods that are traditionally used in the German cuisine. The first one is called spatzle.  Spatzle is a type of flour and egg noodle that is normally fried and  served hot. Sometimes they are served with either cheese or onions and it is served as a side. It can be served with just about any meat or a type of type of soup called eintopf. The next traditional food would be schnitzel. Schnitzel is a thin, boneless meat which is covered in bread crumbs and most times is served with lemon. There are two main different types of schnitzel; wiener and veal. Wiener schnitzel is made of pork. The third most traditional food would be wurst. Wurst is another word for sausage and in Germany there are more than 1,000 different types. The most popular type of sausage is called bratwurst which is often times made with spices, and is smoked and then broiled. Wurst makes great business in Germany. All over the country are different street kiosks where they sell sausage. Most of the sausages that are sold tend to be pork but they can also be made with veal. They can be sold either fresh or smoked. Sausage is normally served with sauerkraut or potato salad with a side of spatzle. A lot of traditional German cuisine is normally served with a meat and some type of vegetable and pasta.
