I am going top focus my culture on the Puerto Rican culture. I chose this area because most of my family is Puerto Rican and i also love the area so much. The Puerto Rican culture is very welcoming and friendly. It is mixed with Taino, European, and African. Puerto Rico is a very small Island that Christopher Columbus took over with the Spaniards during the Spanish war. It is Approximately 100 miles long and 30 miles wide, about 3 times smaller than Rhode Island. Their flag is red white and blue but different than ours. In Puerto Rico there is about 3,620,897 people living there. The capital is San Juan and speak Spanish along with English. Puerto Rico is a very tropical climate with very beautiful surroundings. The reason why Puerto Rico is what it is today is due to being taken over by many different countries bringing many types of styles and people. Throughout this project I would like to learn about how long it has been known as Puerto Rico, the kind of Animals that live there, along with Information on their Government.

  1. Looks like a beautiful place. Interesting that their flag is so similar yet so different to ours.
