The traditional Greek diet is very healthy. It features different amounts of protein and a lot of fruits and vegetables. When it comes to the Greeks diet it is made up of three components. Which are bread, olive oil and wine. Back then bread, of course was a necessity in the Greeks diet.  Today in Greek, bread is still as important as it was back then because it is what nurtures the people and without bread or even rice the dish is not complete. As well as Olive oil back then is was almost used in every single item that is on the table for the Greeks meals. Now in Greek olive oil is even more important as it was back then. Over all Greeks have a very set in stone diet and it uses throughout Greece. Over all after doing all this research, I think Greek food is becoming more popular through out America, with many different Greeks restaurants opening up.  The food in “Like water for Chocolate” plays a role in each one of their lives and how they go about their traditions in foods.  Certain characters love the food and feel that it is food mouth watering and other find it not so good. I think if one of the characters in the book had to prepare a Greeks plate for dinner I think that I will go very well and hope that everyone enjoys it.

  1. I was very surprised to find out that traditional Greek food is healthy, because I always thought it was unhealthy. It is interesting that meat is not an essential part of a meal in Greece like it is in the U.S. Next time I go to a Greek restaurant, I'll have to try some of the healthier options.
